This is brand new, First Quality, US Manufacture, US Military Lake City Arsenal M855 Penetrator ammo, 62 grain with steel penetrating core designed for combat use, firing at 3,025 f.p.s., very scarce and limited supplies, 420 rounds on stripper clips, factory packaged in a fresh ammo can with US Lake City head stamps. This is the identical ammo being used right now in the Middle East by U.S. Troops.

The 5.56mm M855 has a green bullet tip. Adopted by NATO in 1980, the new load has a spitzer boattail bullet. It also has much improved penetration characteristics over the old M193 55-grain projectile at all ranges, resulting in higher retained velocity and greater accuracy at long range.
